Today’s stock market session in India was like a roller coaster — it started with fear but ended with hope. Here’s a simple breakdown of what happened: Morning: Gap-down Opening • Nifty 50 opened 100 points lower because of escalation of geopolitical tensions. • US and European markets had closed in the red yesterday — US market is likely due to profit booking after many days of gains. • Gift Nifty also indicated a weak start, and that’s what we saw in the opening. Initial Moves: Volatility • After the gap-down, Nifty started climbing, giving investors some hope. • But soon, it fell again below yesterday’s closing levels. Markets were unsure and choppy. Trigger for Recovery: Indian Army’s Press Meet? • Around 10:30 AM, the Indian Army held a press conference. • After that, the market recovered strongly, eased the concerns. Closing Snapshot: • Nifty 50: +0.14% (+34.8 points), • Sensex: +0.13% (+105.7 points), • Nifty Bank: +0.63% (+339.5 points). Nifty 50 considered to be in consolidation in between 24000 - 24800 Sector-wise View: • All sectors closed positive except FMCG, Pharma. • Interestingly, the Defence sector fell by 1%. Global Markets: • All major Asian markets closed in green ✅ • Only Japan’s Nikkei 225 was down slightly (-0.14%). Even when the market opens weak, news flow and investor sentiment can completely change the direction. That’s why it’s important not to panic and watch how things unfold during the day.
