Post Market of Indian Stock Market – 25th August, 2025.

Markets started the week strong after U.S. Fed Chair Powell hinted at rate cuts soon. Sensex closed +329 pts at 81,636 and Nifty +98 pts at 24,968. Here’s why some stocks rose or fell: IT Stocks (TCS, Infosys, etc.): Jumped as Powell’s dovish tone lifted global IT sentiment. JK Paper (₹406.5): Rallied 17% after govt imposed a Minimum Import Price on Virgin Multi-layer Paper Board, reducing cheap imports. Nazara Tech (₹1,108): Fell 4% after suspending real-money gaming to comply with new laws banning deposit-based money games. Yes Bank (₹19.6): Gained ~1.5% as RBI cleared Japan’s SMBC to buy a 24.99% stake, a big confidence booster. Gokaldas Exports (₹712): Dropped 6% amid fears of higher U.S. tariffs on Indian exports (possible hike to 50%). Vodafone Idea (₹7.4): Rose 7% on buzz that the PMO may clear a relief package, critical for its survival. Ola Electric (₹48.6): Up +3% after reports that Niti Aayog called a meeting with 2W makers to speed up EV push. Mazagon Dock (₹2,751): +4% after Defence Ministry allowed it to start talks with Thyssenkrupp on ₹70,000-cr submarine project. Shree Refrigerations (₹213): Soared 19% after bagging a ₹106.6-cr order from Hindustan Shipyard to supply HVAC systems for Fleet Support Ships. In short: • IT, banks, defence & EV stocks got a boost from policy support, upgrades, and big orders. • Exporters & gaming stocks faced pressure due to tariffs and regulation.
