Star Health Q1: Revenue Climbs, But Profits Slip Amid Margin Strain!
Star Health & Allied Insurance posted a 11% YoY rise in revenue for Q1 FY26, touching ₹4,233 crore, reflecting growing demand in the health insurance sector. However, profitability metrics weakened. EBIDT dropped 17% YoY to ₹351 crore, and net profit declined 18% YoY to ₹263 crore from ₹319 crore in Q1 FY25. Correspondingly, EPS fell 18% YoY to ₹4.47, compared to ₹5.45 a year ago. The company had recovered from a marginal loss in the previous quarter (₹0.51 crore net profit in Q4 FY25), but its profitability still lags behind year-ago levels. With the stock priced at ₹440, market cap of ₹25,894 crore, and a high PE of 44.0, investors may need to assess margin sustainability before jumping in.
