Everyone watches price. That alone don't tell the story. You have to combine price with volume spikes. Because price can lie. Volume usually doesn’t. Here’s a simple Volume Spike trading idea: Step 1: Spot the spike Look for sudden surge in volume vs recent average Step 2: Check the candle Large bullish candle + volume = aggressive buying Large bearish candle + volume = aggressive selling Step 3: Don’t jump immediately Wait for follow-through or small pullback Step 4: Trade confirmation Enter only if price sustains in the direction of the spike Step 5: Define risk If price goes back inside the spike candle → exit Volume spikes often indicate institutional activity. They don’t enter quietly. They leave footprints. Common mistake everyone does: Trading every spike. Not all spikes matter. Only the ones that shift structure. Volume doesn’t predict. It reveals.
