VA Tech Wabag in Spotlight with ₹2,712 Cr Order Wins…

VA Tech Wabag shares are expected to be in focus as the company secured two major infrastructure contracts worth a total of ₹2,712 crore. The first is a ₹380 crore order from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB). This is a Design-Build-Operate (DBO) project under the Karnataka Water Security and Disaster Resilience Program. The scope includes the design, engineering, construction, and commissioning of advanced wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) across four sites in Bommanahalli. These plants will feature tertiary treatment facilities, biogas generation units, solar sludge drying beds, intermediate pumping stations, and associated piping works. The project is scheduled for completion over 30 months, followed by 10 years of operations and maintenance. The second, much larger project was awarded on July 24 by the Saudi Water Authority (SWA). It involves the development of a 300 million litres per day (MLD) Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) mega desalination plant in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, valued at approximately USD 272 million (or ₹2,332 crore). The greenfield project covers the full scope from design and engineering to supply, construction, and commissioning, and is part of Saudi Arabia’s growing push for sustainable water infrastructure. In the last trading session, VA Tech Wabag’s share closed at ₹1,622.10, down ₹17.30 or 1.06%. The stock has a 52-week high of ₹1,943.95 (recorded on December 9, 2024) and a 52-week low of ₹1,109.35 (hit on January 28, 2025). At the current level, the stock is trading 16.56% below its 52-week high and 46.22% above its 52-week low. With a market capitalisation of ₹10,092 crore, the company is gaining investor attention for strengthening its global presence in water infrastructure. These back-to-back order wins could support earnings growth and keep the stock in the limelight in the coming sessions.
