Axis Bank Ltd reported a 25–26% year-on-year decline in standalone net profit to ₹5,090 crore

AXISBANK
shares gained 0.12% on October 17, 2025, closing at ₹1,198.75 amid steady investor interest ahead of the company’s recent Q2 FY26 results announcement. The bank reported a 25–26% year-on-year decline in standalone net profit to ₹5,090 crore for Q2, primarily due to higher provisions for bad loans—even as net interest income (NII) grew a marginal 2% to ₹13,744 crore and net advances crossed ₹9.5 lakh crore for the first time. NIMs (net interest margins) narrowed to 3.73% (down from 3.99% a year earlier), reflecting industry-wide margin pressure, while gross NPA and net NPA ratios improved slightly to 1.46% and 0.44%, respectively
