Axis Bank Ltd standalone net profit for Q2 FY26

AXISBANK
reported a 26% year-on-year decline in standalone net profit for Q2 FY26, falling to ₹5,090 crore due to higher provisions and lower trading income. The fall was deeper than analyst estimates, with profit margins impacted by a surge in provisions for bad loans, including a one-time ₹1,231 crore standard asset provision for discontinued crop loan products, as directed by the RBI. Meanwhile, net interest income (NII) rose 2% YoY to ₹13,745 crore, but net interest margins (NIMs) narrowed to 3.73%, down from 3.99% a year earlier. Gross Non-Performing Assets (NPA) improved to 1.46%, and net NPA stood at 0.44%, signaling slightly improved asset quality
