Hindustan Unilever approached the Delhi High Court

Hindustan Unilever has approached the Delhi High Court seeking an injunction against eco-friendly brand Beco’s “#WarOnWhatsHidden” campaign, which alleges that HUL’s Surf Excel Matic Liquid and Vim Dishwash Gel contain skin-irritating chemicals. HUL is alleging commercial disparagement, trademark infringement and passing off against Beco and its parent Kwick Living. The court issued notice but declined an immediate restraining order, listing the interim-injunction hearing for August 21. On the business front, HUL management signalled more selective price increases to counter ongoing commodity inflation, which has been elevated by the Middle East conflict and higher input costs. In Q1 FY27, revenue rose about 10% to ₹17,341 crore, with underlying sales growth of 10%—the strongest in 13 quarters—while net profit fell roughly 3% year-on-year to around ₹2,400 crore, slightly below estimates. Brokerages have largely retained bullish views, citing strong volume growth and category momentum, but the stock has underperformed the broader market in recent sessions.
