Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd Signs Strategic IMEC Pact with Port of Marseille Fos to Boost India–Europe Trade

Ahmedabad | February 18, 2026 Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with France’s Port of Marseille Fos to strengthen trade connectivity under the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in trade facilitation, port digitalisation, clean energy transition, and multimodal logistics integration. A key highlight of the partnership is the proposal to establish an “IMEC Ports Club” to coordinate infrastructure, policy inputs, and investment frameworks among major corridor ports. The IMEC initiative, launched during the Narendra Modi-hosted G20 Summit, envisions a 6,000-km multimodal corridor connecting India and Europe via maritime, rail, and energy networks. With APSEZ’s Mundra and Hazira ports serving as eastern gateways and Marseille Fos strengthening the western European leg, the corridor now achieves end-to-end port connectivity. The partnership will also focus on developing a Green Maritime Corridor between Mundra and Marseille Fos, promoting low-carbon bunkering, shore power infrastructure, and sustainable trade routes. APSEZ currently operates 15 ports with a cargo handling capacity of 633 million tonnes per annum, accounting for approximately 28% of India’s total port volumes. **Disclaimer:** This article is for informational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice.
