GAIL Signs 10-Year LNG Supply Agreement with Vitol Asia

**Mumbai, July 15, 2025** — **GAIL (India) Limited** has signed a significant **10-year LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA)** with **Vitol Asia Pte. Ltd.** for the annual supply of **1 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA)** of **Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)** starting **2026**. This deal strengthens GAIL’s long-term LNG sourcing to meet India’s growing energy demands. Under the agreement, **Vitol** will supply LNG from its global portfolio. The partnership aligns with India’s strategy to increase the share of natural gas in its energy mix from **6% to 15% by 2030**. India was the **world’s fourth-largest LNG importer in 2024**, with demand expected to rise further. **GAIL’s Director (Marketing) Mr. Sanjay Kumar** highlighted this agreement as a step towards enhancing supply security for GAIL’s diverse customer base. **Vitol Asia’s CFO Mr. Jay Ng** reaffirmed India’s importance in Vitol’s strategy and its commitment to providing reliable, cleaner energy. **GAIL** remains India’s leading natural gas transmission and distribution company. **Vitol**, a global energy giant with **\$331 billion in 2024 revenues**, supplied **18 million MT of LNG** last year.
