Hindustan Zinc: Rampura Agucha Becomes India’s First Zinc Mark Certified Mine

Hindustan Zinc announced that its Rampura Agucha Mine has become India’s first Zinc Mark certified mine, marking a major milestone in responsible and sustainable mining practices. The certification validates the company’s adherence to globally benchmarked ESG standards, responsible sourcing practices, and transparent value-chain operations. Rampura Agucha, recognized as the world’s largest underground zinc-lead mine, received the certification following an independent third-party assessment under the Copper Mark Assurance Framework. This achievement strengthens Hindustan Zinc’s position in ESG-focused global supply chains and enhances trust among customers seeking responsibly sourced and traceable raw materials. The company had earlier secured Zinc Mark certification for its Chanderiya Smelting Complex, enabling end-to-end responsible zinc production across mining and smelting operations. According to CEO Arun Misra, the recognition reflects the company’s integrated approach toward responsible production and ESG excellence, while reinforcing customer confidence in transparent and sustainable metal sourcing. Hindustan Zinc stated that the certification aligns with rising global demand for low-carbon and sustainably produced metals across sectors such as infrastructure, automobiles, renewable energy, electronics, and advanced manufacturing. The company also reiterated its long-term sustainability commitments, including achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 or sooner. $HINDZINC Like, Follow & Share
