**Hindustan Zinc Reports Record Q1 Mined Metal Output Despite Lower Silver and Refined Metal Volumes**
Udaipur, July 2, 2025 – Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, reported its production numbers for the first quarter ended June 30, 2025, marking a resilient operational performance. The company achieved its *highest-ever first-quarter mined metal production* of **265,000 tonnes**, a 1% year-on-year (YoY) rise, although slightly lower quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) due to planned mine preparation activities.
Refined metal production stood at **250,000 tonnes**, down 5% YoY and 7% QoQ, impacted by scheduled maintenance and plant availability. Within this, refined zinc production declined to **202,000 tonnes** and refined lead to **48,000 tonnes**. Saleable silver production dropped by 11% YoY to **149 tonnes**, largely due to reduced silver contribution from the SK mine and higher base-period work-in-progress liquidation.
A bright spot was HZL’s subsidiary, Hindustan Zinc Alloys, which posted its highest-ever quarterly output of **5.1 kt**. Additionally, wind power generation surged 24% YoY and 113% QoQ to **134 million units**, supported by seasonal wind velocity.
The company reaffirmed its leadership in sustainability with initiatives like EcoZen – Asia’s first low-carbon zinc – and remains committed to Net Zero by 2050, reinforcing its position as a key enabler of the green energy transition.
