Jindal Steel Recognised as India’s First Diversified Large Enterprise Awarding Body by NCVET
📌 New Delhi, 27 September 2025 – Jindal Steel Limited (formerly Jindal Steel & Power Limited) has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first diversified large enterprise and the first integrated steel manufacturer in India to be recognised as an Awarding Body by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
The recognition provides Jindal Steel PAN-India jurisdiction in the Large Indian Enterprise/MNC category, empowering it to design and implement industry-aligned skilling programmes under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Credit Framework (NCrF). The focus areas include decarbonisation, circular economy, and advanced technologies, strengthening India’s future-ready workforce.
This development bridges the gap between education and employment by ensuring structured, outcome-based training with global portability of credentials. It reinforces Jindal Steel’s role in nation-building, capacity development, and India’s transition to green energy and modern infrastructure.
Speaking on the achievement, Mr. Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel, said:
“Being recognised as an Awarding Body by NCVET is a responsibility we accept with seriousness and purpose. It allows us to bring industry standards directly into education and skilling, enabling young Indians to succeed in the workplace and contribute to building a stronger nation.”
With an investment footprint exceeding USD 12 billion, Jindal Steel operates integrated facilities in Angul, Raigarh, and Patratu, and maintains a strong presence in India and Africa. Its mine-to-metal model, advanced capabilities, and diversified product portfolio continue to power key sectors such as infrastructure, construction, and manufacturing.
