Jio Payments Bank Enters Next-Gen Tolling with MLFF Projects on Gurugram–Jaipur Corridor

Mumbai, October 13, 2025: Jio Payments Bank Limited (JPBL), a subsidiary of Jio Financial Services Limited (JFSL), has announced its entry into the next-generation tolling ecosystem through the Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) road projects. The digital-first bank has won contracts to implement Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)-based MLFF toll systems at two toll plazas — Shahjahanpur and Manoharpura — located between Gurugram and Jaipur. The MLFF technology enables seamless toll collection using a combination of RFID, ANPR, Dedicated Short-Range Communication, and Global Navigation Satellite Systems, allowing vehicles to pass through without stopping or slowing down. The initiative forms part of India’s pilot MLFF project launched by the Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) to create barrier-free national highways. JPBL’s achievement marks a significant milestone following its earlier expansion into FASTag-based toll acquisition operations in July 2025. The payments bank currently manages toll operations at 11 plazas across India as an acquirer bank, and the new MLFF contract strengthens its role in India’s digital mobility infrastructure. Vinod Easwaran, MD & CEO of JPBL, stated, “Our expansion into tolling reflects our mission to digitize everyday payments and build smart financial infrastructure at scale. We aim to drive convenience, inclusion, and efficiency through technology-led solutions.” JFSL emphasized that JPBL will leverage Jio Platforms’ digital ecosystem to enhance toll management and payment processing capabilities nationwide. ✅ Disclaimer: This post is for informational purposes only and not investment advice. 👉 Follow for more corporate and market updates.
