Lupin Launches Cancer Drug Dasatinib Tablets in the U.S. Market

Lupin Limited has strengthened its U.S. oncology portfolio with the launch of Dasatinib Tablets in multiple strengths, following approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The product has been developed in partnership with Canada-based Pharmascience Inc. Dasatinib Tablets are the generic equivalent of Sprycel, a blockbuster drug originally marketed by Bristol-Myers Squibb. The medication is used to treat Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in both adults and pediatric patients. The launch includes six dosage variants ranging from 20 mg to 140 mg, offering physicians wider treatment flexibility. The branded reference product recorded estimated annual U.S. sales of USD 930 million for the twelve months ended October 2025, highlighting a significant commercial opportunity for Lupin in the high-value oncology segment. This approval reinforces Lupin’s strategy of expanding its complex generics pipeline in regulated markets. The company continues to focus on differentiated products that can drive sustainable growth in the U.S., its largest global market. With this launch, Lupin further strengthens its presence in specialty therapeutics while leveraging partnerships to accelerate product development. The move is expected to enhance revenue visibility and deepen the company’s footprint in the competitive U.S. generics space. Disclaimer: For informational purposes only. Not investment advice.
