Mahindra Announces ₹15,000 Crore Mega Manufacturing Push in Maharashtra

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has unveiled plans to establish its largest-ever integrated automobile and tractor manufacturing facility in Nagpur, Maharashtra, marking one of the biggest industrial investments in the state’s recent history. The company has committed a massive ₹15,000 crore investment over the next decade to strengthen its manufacturing footprint and support future growth. The upcoming facility will be spread across 1,500 acres in the Vidarbha region, with an additional 150-acre supplier park in Sambhajinagar. Once fully operational by 2028, the plant will have an annual production capacity of more than 5 lakh vehicles and 1 lakh tractors, making it Mahindra’s biggest integrated production hub in India. Strategically located near the Samruddhi Expressway, the Nagpur unit will benefit from strong logistics connectivity and proximity to key domestic and export markets. The plant will support Mahindra’s next-generation platforms, including the NU_IQ architecture, and will be equipped to manufacture vehicles across multiple powertrains—internal combustion engines, electric vehicles, and future technologies. Alongside the Nagpur project, Mahindra also plans to acquire land in the Igatpuri-Nashik region to expand engine and product capacities. These initiatives are expected to generate large-scale employment and deepen Maharashtra’s position as a leading auto manufacturing hub. The investment reflects Mahindra’s long-term strategy of innovation-driven growth and its commitment to the ‘Make in India for the World’ vision.
