Meesho Upcoming IPO
Meesho, the Indian e-commerce platform, is set to launch a $1 billion IPO in late 2025, targeting a $10 billion valuation. The company has appointed Morgan Stanley, Kotak Mahindra Capital, and Citi as lead bankers, with JP Morgan potentially joining. The IPO is strategically planned for the festive season, aiming to go public before rival Flipkart.
Meesho’s valuation has surged from $3.9 billion in 2024, reflecting strong growth. To facilitate the IPO, the company is undergoing a corporate restructuring, shifting its headquarters from Delaware to India through a reverse merger, incurring a $300 million tax liability.
Financially, Meesho's operating revenue grew by 33% to ₹7,615 crore in FY 2023-24, while adjusted losses dropped by 97% to ₹53 crore. This improved financial performance boosts investor confidence.
Founded in 2015, Meesho has carved a niche in India's e-commerce sector by catering to value-conscious consumers in smaller cities. Its cost-effective seller onboarding model has helped it compete with Amazon and Flipkart.
As the IPO approaches, Meesho is focusing on profitability, expansion, and strengthening its market position, positioning itself as a strong contender in India’s competitive e-commerce space.
