🛢️ ONGC Connects Khoraghat Gas to North-East Gas Grid 🚀
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has commissioned gas evacuation facilities at Khoraghat GGS-1 in Assam, connecting surplus associated natural gas from the Upper Assam Shelf to the North East Gas Grid (NEGG). 🟢
🔹 ~1 lakh SCM/day of gas from ONGC’s Jorhat asset can now be utilised
🔹 Connection complements the Dergaon–Dimapur Pipeline
🔹 Additional hook-up facilities are being developed at Jantapathar & Kasomarigaon
🔹 Expected to reduce gas flaring and improve regional gas availability
🔹 Supports households, industry, transport & power sectors
📊 Investor Takeaway:
The development strengthens ONGC’s gas infrastructure and evacuation capabilities in the North-East, while potentially improving utilisation of regional gas production.
📌 Key theme: Better connectivity → Higher gas utilisation → Stronger regional gas ecosystem. ⛽
