Premier Energies Commissions 400 MW Solar Cell Facility, Boosts Capacity to 3.6 GW
Premier Energies Limited has announced the successful commissioning of a **400 MW Solar Photovoltaic Cell (Mono PERC) manufacturing line** at its E-City facility in **Maheshwaram, Telangana**, marking a key milestone in its capacity expansion strategy.
The facility has been commissioned through the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, **Premier Energies Photovoltaic Private Limited**, as part of a **brownfield expansion**. The expansion involved installing additional equipment while leveraging existing infrastructure and utilities, enabling faster execution, lower capital intensity, and quicker operational ramp-up.
With this addition, Premier Energies’ **total solar cell manufacturing capacity has increased to 3.6 GW**, further strengthening its position in India’s rapidly expanding solar manufacturing ecosystem. The move aligns well with the government’s focus on boosting domestic solar manufacturing and reducing reliance on imports.
Demand for **Mono PERC technology** continues to remain healthy, driven by utility-scale solar projects and rooftop installations across the country. The brownfield nature of the expansion is expected to support operating margins over the medium term due to cost efficiencies and improved asset utilisation.
From a market perspective, the commissioning is **fundamentally positive**, enhancing growth visibility and underscoring the company’s execution capabilities. Investors will closely monitor capacity utilisation, order book traction, and margin performance as the expanded capacity scales up.
