PVR INOX Divests 4700BC to Marico for ₹226.8 Crore in All-Cash Deal
Mumbai, January 26, 2026: PVR INOX Limited has entered into definitive agreements to monetise its entire stake in Zea Maize Private Limited, the company behind premium snacking brand 4700BC, to Marico Limited for a total consideration of ₹226.8 crore in an all-cash transaction.
PVR INOX has been invested in Zea Maize since its early stages and has played a key role in scaling 4700BC from a niche gourmet popcorn brand to one of India’s fastest-growing premium snacking companies. Over the years, the brand has expanded beyond cinemas to build a strong presence across modern retail, e-commerce, quick commerce, and institutional channels.
The divestment follows a strategic review by PVR INOX aimed at unlocking shareholder value, strengthening its balance sheet, and reallocating capital towards its core cinema exhibition business. The company clarified that the transaction will not have any material impact on its in-cinema food and beverage revenues or growth trajectory.
PVR INOX stated that the transaction is expected to be accretive to profit, free cash flow, and return ratios. As 4700BC enters its next phase of growth, the brand is expected to benefit from Marico’s FMCG expertise, distribution strength, and product innovation capabilities, while retaining its premium positioning.
The transaction marks the monetisation of a non-core asset for PVR INOX, allowing the company to sharpen its focus on its primary business while delivering value to shareholders.
