**SoftBank-Backed Meesho Files Updated IPO Papers with SEBI to Raise $800 Million**
*Bengaluru, October 19, 2025* – E-commerce platform **Meesho**, backed by global investors including **SoftBank, Prosus, and Fidelity**, has filed an updated **Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP)** with the **Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)** for its highly anticipated initial public offering (IPO), aiming to raise approximately **$800 million (₹6,650 crore)**.
According to the updated filing, Meesho’s IPO will comprise a **fresh issue of equity shares worth up to ₹4,250 crore** and an **offer for sale (OFS) of up to 17,56,96,602 equity shares** of face value ₹1 each by existing shareholders. The proceeds from the fresh issue are expected to be used for business expansion, marketing initiatives, and potential acquisitions, while the OFS will allow early investors and promoters to partially exit.
The Bengaluru-based company, founded in 2015 by **Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal**, has emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing online marketplaces, empowering small businesses and individual sellers through a zero-commission model. Meesho’s strong presence in Tier-II and Tier-III cities has driven rapid user adoption and transaction growth.
