Tata Power Renewable Energy Commissions Landmark 1 GW DCR-Compliant Solar Project for SJVN

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has successfully commissioned **India’s largest 1 GW DCR-compliant solar power project** for SJVN Limited, marking a significant milestone in the country’s renewable energy journey. The project spans sites in **Bikaner, Rajasthan**, and will supply clean power to **Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand**. The project uses approximately **2.4 million domestically manufactured solar modules** produced at TP Solar’s Tirunelveli facility, reinforcing Tata Power’s commitment to **‘Make in India’** and domestic clean-energy manufacturing. Designed to operate under extreme climatic conditions, the project integrates advanced DCR-compliant cells, mono bifacial modules, and high-performance inverters to optimise power generation efficiency. In its first year of operations, the solar facility is expected to generate nearly **2,455 million units of green electricity** and offset about **1.74 million tonnes of CO₂**, significantly contributing to India’s decarbonisation goals. Beyond environmental impact, the project has also created meaningful socio-economic benefits, generating employment for over **300 local workers** and supporting more than **25 local vendors**.
