TCS Launches Dedicated AI-Focused GCC Business Unit, Appoints Soumen Roy as Head

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced the launch of a new business unit, **Global Value & Innovation Centres (GVIC)**, aimed at helping enterprises establish and scale AI-native Global Capability Centres (GCCs). The newly formed unit will provide end-to-end support across the GCC lifecycle, including strategy, setup, operations, talent development, cloud transformation, and AI-led innovation. The initiative is designed to help global enterprises transform their GCCs into value-driven innovation hubs capable of delivering strategic business outcomes. To lead this strategic initiative, TCS has appointed **Soumen Roy** as the Head of TCS GVIC. Roy brings nearly three decades of leadership experience across multiple industries and geographies and most recently served as the Country Head of TCS Canada. According to TCS, GCCs are increasingly evolving from traditional delivery centres into innovation-led organizations that own products, platforms, and business outcomes. With enterprises accelerating investments in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, the company believes AI-native GCCs will play a critical role in driving future growth and operational efficiency. TCS stated that the new business unit combines its extensive GCC expertise with AI, engineering, cloud, and talent capabilities to help clients build future-ready global centres aligned with evolving enterprise priorities. The company currently partners with over 150 enterprises worldwide across various stages of the GCC lifecycle, reinforcing its position as a key player in the rapidly expanding global GCC ecosystem. ⚠️ Disclaimer: Investments in securities markets are subject to market risks.
