Ceigall India: ₹5,300 Cr Power Transmission Opportunity

is expanding its presence beyond roads and urban infrastructure after receiving a Letter of Intent from REC Power Development & Consultancy for a major power transmission project in Gujarat. The project has an estimated cost of ₹5,300 crore, including GST, and involves developing a 765/400 kV air-insulated substation along with approximately 300 km of transmission lines. The project will facilitate power evacuation from the Lakadia, Jam Khambhaliya and Jamnagar renewable energy zones, supporting the transmission of large-scale power generation from Gujarat. The execution period is 36 months, followed by a 35-year operational period under a tariff-based contract. Once operational, the project carries annual transmission charges of ₹608.67 crore for 35 years. Strategically, the order provides Ceigall with an entry into the power transmission segment and diversifies its business beyond its traditional infrastructure EPC activities. The long operating period also provides visibility into recurring transmission revenues, although the project will require significant upfront capital and execution capabilities.
