Dilip Buildcon L1 Bidder for 1,265 Cr Project in Maharashtra

has emerged as the L-1 bidder for a ₹1,265 crore EPC component of a 400 kV GIS transmission project in Maharashtra. The project marks another step in DBL’s strategy of diversifying beyond its traditional roads and EPC business towards long-duration infrastructure assets and power transmission. The project involves development of the 400 kV GIS Solapur/Paranda Switching Station in Dharashiv, Maharashtra, through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route. Under the BOOT model, DBL will acquire 100% equity in the project SPV and act as the transmission service provider. Construction and commissioning are expected within 24 months, after which the transmission system will be operated and maintained for 35 years from COD. DBL’s EPC scope is valued at ₹1,265 crore, excluding GST. This business model is different from a conventional EPC contract. DBL gets the initial construction opportunity while also participating in the long-term ownership, operation and maintenance of the transmission asset. This can potentially provide greater revenue visibility over the asset’s life, although it also requires upfront capital and disciplined project execution.
