has approved an investment of up to ₹135.15 crore to acquire a 51.98% stake in Bengaluru-based Cogknit Semantics Private Limited, marking its expansion into AI-powered battlefield management and situational-awareness systems. The transaction combines the purchase of existing shares with a fresh investment in the company, with investor Ashish Kacholia and his associates also participating in the primary funding round.
Cogknit develops indigenous defence technology designed to provide real-time battlefield information and improve coordination among military personnel and platforms. Its capabilities complement Zen Technologies’ existing portfolio of defence training simulators, anti-drone systems and related technologies. Following completion, Cogknit will become a subsidiary of Zen, while its founding team will continue to lead the business.
The acquisition strengthens Zen’s presence in an emerging segment of defence technology, although the financial contribution of the target remains modest, with turnover of ₹0.48 crore in FY26. Execution, product deployment and future revenue growth will be key factors in assessing the long-term value of the investment. The transaction is expected to be completed by December 13, 2026, subject to customary conditions.#WatchOutFor#StockInNews#EquityResearch#MacroViews#FundamentalViews
