CEAT Limited, established in 1924 in Turin, Italy, and incorporated in India in 1958, is a prominent tyre manufacturer and a flagship company of the RPG Group. Headquartered in Mumbai, CEAT produces over 165 million tyres annually, catering to a diverse range of vehicles including two-wheelers, passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and off-highway equipment. The company operates six manufacturing plants across India, with facilities in Mumbai, Nashik, Halol, Vadodara, Nagpur, and Chennai. CEAT's products are available in over 110 countries, reflecting its significant global presence. In the fiscal year 2023–24, CEAT reported revenues of ₹13,218 crore and a net profit of ₹471 crore. The company has maintained a healthy dividend payout ratio of approximately 23.5%. Despite challenges such as rising rubber prices and fluctuating demand, CEAT demonstrated resilience. In the first quarter of FY2024, the company reported a profit increase of 6.6% to ₹1.54 billion, surpassing analysts' expectations, driven by price hikes and strong demand in the tyre replacement market. CEAT continues to focus on innovation and sustainability. Notably, it became the first tyre company globally to win the Deming Grand Prize in 2023, recognizing its commitment to quality management. The company has also received the Sword of Honour from the British Safety Council for its Chennai and Ambernath plants and the Lighthouse Certification from the World Economic Forum for its Halol plant industry through strategic expansions, technological advancements, and a commitment to quality and sustainability.
