Berger Paints Starts Production at ₹188 Crore Plant

BERGEPAINT
Berger Paints India Limited has commenced commercial production at its new, fully automated solvent-based paint manufacturing facility in Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh, effective September 9, 2026. The company has invested over ₹188 crore in the facility, which has an annual production capacity of 36,000 KL/MT. The plant is expected to strengthen Berger Paints’ manufacturing capabilities and support its growing business in southern India. The new facility adds to Berger Paints’ existing manufacturing infrastructure at Hindupur. Earlier this year, the company also commenced commercial production at a separate resin manufacturing facility at the same location, with an investment exceeding ₹78 crore and an annual capacity of 12,000 MT. The expansion comes as the Indian paints industry continues to see increased competition and changing market dynamics. Additional manufacturing capacity could help Berger Paints improve supply availability and serve demand from southern markets more efficiently. Investor Takeaway: The new plant could support Berger Paints’ long-term growth by increasing production capacity and strengthening its regional manufacturing presence. The investment also reflects the company’s focus on expanding its production infrastructure. However, the actual financial benefit will depend on capacity utilisation, demand growth and the time required to ramp up production. The company has not disclosed a specific revenue or earnings contribution from this facility.
