Bharat Forge Opens QIP at ₹1,947.70 Per Share

BHARATFORG
Bharat Forge Ltd. has opened its Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP) on September 17, 2026, to raise capital through the issue of equity shares to eligible institutional investors. The company has set the floor price at ₹1,947.70 per share for the QIP. Bharat Forge may, at its discretion, offer a discount of up to 5% on the floor price, subject to the approval already received from shareholders. The decision to launch the QIP follows approval from the company's Board of Directors on August 10, 2026, and shareholder approval through a postal ballot on September 11, 2026. The Investment Committee – Strategic Business approved the opening of the issue and the preliminary placement document on September 17. Shareholders had approved the issuance of securities worth up to ₹2,500 crore through the September 11 postal ballot. However, this represents the approved fundraising limit and should not be treated as the confirmed amount that will necessarily be raised through the current QIP. The funds raised through the capital-raising programme can provide Bharat Forge with additional financial flexibility for its growth and strategic initiatives across its automotive, industrial and defence businesses. The company has also recently announced a strategic collaboration with RTX's Pratt & Whitney Canada to evaluate turboprop engines for India's DRDO HALE UAV programme, adding to its focus on expanding its presence in advanced engineering and defence-related opportunities. Investor Takeaway: The QIP provides Bharat Forge with an avenue to raise institutional capital and strengthen its balance-sheet flexibility for future growth initiatives. At the same time, a QIP results in the issuance of additional shares, which can affect the company's share capital and earnings per share depending on the final issue size. Investors should therefore track the final issue price, amount raised and utilisation of funds.
