KPI Green Energy Limited, through its subsidiary Sun Drops Energia Private Limited, has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for the development of utility-scale Standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects with a total capacity of 445 MW/890 MWh across multiple locations in Gujarat. This marks the company’s first utility-scale IPP BESS project and its first BESS project awarded by a major government entity. The project, part of Phase-VII tariff-based competitive bidding supported by Viability Gap Funding (VGF) through the Power System Development Fund (PSDF), represents a strategic milestone in expanding KPI Green Energy’s renewable energy portfolio to include grid-connected BESS infrastructure. These projects are critical for grid reliability, peak power management, and renewable energy integration, showcasing the company’s growing capabilities in large-scale clean energy initiatives.
