secures Govt. Incentives under ECMS scheme

Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SAMIL), a global leader in design, engineering, manufacturing, and assembly, announced that its subsidiary, Motherson Electronic Components Private Limited (MECPL), has secured incentives under the Government of India’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). These incentives, spanning FY 26 to FY 31, will support MECPL in producing enclosures for the consumer electronics industry, with a planned investment of Rs. 1,900 crores and the creation of over 5,000 jobs at its Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu plant. This achievement highlights Motherson’s commitment to domestic manufacturing and its role in strengthening India’s value chain across automotive, aerospace, and consumer electronics industries, aligning with the “Make in India” initiative.
