UPL’s Advanta Holdings Acquires 99.98% Stake in Hytech Egypt for $110 Million
On August 15, 2026, $UPL UPL Limited, through its step‑down subsidiary Advanta Holdings B.V., announced the acquisition of a 99.98% stake in Misr Hytech Seed International S.A.E. (Hytech Egypt) for approximately US$110 million in cash. Hytech Egypt is a leading seed company in the Middle East and Africa, specializing in white and yellow corn hybrids. This acquisition positions Advanta as a regional leader in the fast‑growing seed markets of the Middle East and Africa, strengthening UPL’s global footprint in sustainable agriculture. The transaction is not a related‑party deal and is subject to anti‑trust approvals from COMESA and the Egyptian Competition Authority. Completion is expected by January 31, 2027.
