Welspun Corp Wins ₹2,000 Crore Aramco Order

Welspun Corp Ltd. is in focus after its associate company, East Pipes Integrated Company for Industry (EPIC), a listed company in Saudi Arabia, secured a new contract from Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) for the manufacturing and supply of steel pipes. The contract is valued at more than SAR 771 million, approximately ₹2,000 crore including VAT, and has an execution period of six months. The order involves the manufacturing and supply of steel pipes for Saudi Aramco. EPIC is an associate company of Welspun Corp and operates in the Saudi Arabian steel-pipe market. As the order has been secured by the associate, its financial impact will be reflected in Welspun Corp's consolidated financial statements based on its shareholding and applicable accounting treatment. The latest order adds to a series of large international order wins associated with Welspun Corp. The company had also announced its largest-ever single order of approximately ₹17,200 crore in August 2026 for the supply of pipes from its US manufacturing facility, with execution planned across FY2027-28 and FY2028-29. The Saudi Aramco contract further strengthens the company's exposure to the oil and gas infrastructure market in the Middle East. With a six-month execution timeline, the project is expected to be completed relatively quickly compared with some of the company's longer-duration projects. The order also comes at a time when Welspun Corp's international business continues to contribute significantly to its overall order pipeline. The company has manufacturing and project operations across multiple geographies, while EPIC provides exposure to the Saudi Arabian market. My View: In my view, the order is a positive business development for Welspun Corp as it strengthens its Middle East order pipeline and adds another large customer contract through its associate company. The key factors to monitor will be execution and the eventual contribution to consolidated financials.
