Welspun Enterprises Wins ₹351 Crore Sewer Orders

WELENT
Welspun Enterprises Ltd. has announced that its material subsidiary, Welspun Michigan Engineers Ltd. (WMEL), has secured two sewer rehabilitation projects from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) with a combined contract value of ₹351.24 crore, including GST and excluding provisional sums. The Letters of Award for the projects are dated September 18, 2026, with the formal work-order communication received by WMEL on September 19. The first project, valued at ₹229.48 crore, involves rehabilitation of the existing main trunk sewer line in Western Ahmedabad, covering the stretch from Iskcon Char Rasta to the 285 MLD Tertiary Sewage Pumping Station. The second project, worth ₹121.76 crore, involves rehabilitation of existing sewer lines across various stretches of Eastern Ahmedabad. Both projects are funded by the World Bank and are scheduled to be completed within 24 months from the project commencement date. Following these wins, WMEL's order book as of June 2026 increased from approximately ₹2,135 crore to around ₹2,432.66 crore, excluding GST and provisional sums. My View: In my view, these orders are a notable development for Welspun Enterprises because they strengthen the company's presence in the specialised urban water and wastewater infrastructure segment. The addition to WMEL's order book provides greater visibility for future project execution. The World Bank-funded nature of the projects also adds an important institutional dimension to the contracts. However, the key factor to monitor will be execution over the 24-month project period and the company's ability to convert the expanded order book into revenue and sustainable margins. The actual financial impact will become clearer as the projects progress.
