GODAWARI POWER & ISPAT: TEMPORARILY SHUTS 2 MTPA PELLET PLANT ⛏️⚠️ • 🏭 Godawari Power & Ispat has temporarily suspended operations at its 2.0 MTPA Iron Ore Pellet Plant at Siltara, Raipur, effective July 14, 2026 • ⛽️ The shutdown is due to curtailed contracted gas supplies by GAIL, following the withdrawal of the Natural Gas (Supply Regulation) Order, 2026, resulting in higher gas prices and continued force majeure conditions • 🌧️ The company also cited lower iron ore production from Ari Dongri Mines during the monsoon, making pellet production economically unviable due to higher raw material costs • 📉 The shutdown is expected to reduce iron ore pellet production and sales, impacting the company's Q2 FY27 profitability • 🔄 GPIL expects no long-term impact, as iron ore production is likely to improve after the monsoon and gas supplies normalize. The affected plant contributed ₹259 crore (5.5%) of FY26 turnover 🔴 Impact: Negative (The temporary suspension will impact pellet production, sales volumes and Q2 FY27 profitability, although management expects the impact to be temporary.)
