TATA POWER COMMISSIONS 400 KV JALPURA–KHURJA TRANSMISSION CORRIDOR

Tata Power has successfully commissioned the second element of its Jalpura–Khurja Transmission Project in Uttar Pradesh. The project includes a 400 kV double-circuit transmission line spanning 162 circuit km between Khurja and Jalpura, along with a 400/220 kV GIS substation at Jalpura having 1,000 MVA transformation capacity. The infrastructure is expected to strengthen power connectivity and transmission reliability across NCR, Noida and Western Uttar Pradesh. The Jalpura substation will facilitate the transfer of power from the 400 kV high-voltage grid to the 220 kV network, supporting the region’s growing electricity demand. The project has been executed through Tata Power’s wholly owned subsidiary, TP Jalpura Khurja Power Transmission Ltd. Tata Power’s transmission portfolio now stands at approximately 7,900 circuit km of lines operational and under execution across India. Impact: Positive — The commissioning expands Tata Power’s transmission infrastructure footprint and strengthens its position in the power transmission segment, while supporting rising electricity demand across NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh.
