When you switch on a light, charge your phone, or drive an EV — you’re using copper.
Now, imagine an India where 500 GW of green energy, 30% EV adoption, and smart cities are not dreams, but real, functioning systems. That India needs copper by the tonne.
We currently consume around 1.7 million tonnes of copper yearly.
But by 2030, that will nearly double.
And by 2047, demand could hit 10 million tonnes annually.
That’s 6x growth in just two decades — not because copper is suddenly “in trend,” but because we’re literally building the wires and motors of our future.
🏗️ Think of India as a House Under Construction
In Phase 1 (2024–2030), we are laying foundations: metro lines, power grids, solar parks, EV charging. This phase is copper-intensive, growing faster than GDP.
In Phase 2 (2030–2047), we slow down a bit — maintaining, upgrading, and recycling copper. Growth slows, but volumes rise because the economy is bigger.
It’s like building a house — the wiring happens once. Later, you just maintain the lights. But those early years need truckloads of copper.
