PVR Inox to contest Bengaluru penalty order for 'wasting time' with 25-minute advertisements.

India’s leading multiplex chain, PVR Inox, plans to challenge the Bengaluru District Consumer Commission’s ruling that playing long advertisements before a movie is an unfair trade practice. The court imposed a ₹20,000 penalty for mental distress, ₹8,000 in legal expenses, and a ₹1 lakh fine on the company after a complaint about a 25-minute ad delay before *Sam Bahadur*. The complainant argued that the misrepresentation of show timings caused him to miss other appointments. PVR Inox, however, maintains that it has not engaged in unfair practices and has always complied with legal regulations.
