Sail plans to expand the capacity of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) to 9 million tonnes (MT) by 2030 with an investment of ₹30,000 crore. The expansion, spanning 1,200 acres, will enable RSP to contribute approximately 25% of SAIL’s total targeted production capacity of 35 MTPA by 2030, according to Alok Verma, Director In-Charge, RSP, in an interview with PTI.
