ICICI Prudential Life Reports Strong Q4 Profit Growth; VNB Margin Holds Steady

ICICIPRULI
ICICI Prudential Life Insurance posted a strong Q4 performance with net profit surging to ₹3.86 billion, more than double from ₹1.74 billion in the same quarter last year and up from ₹3.26 billion sequentially. Revenue also showed healthy growth, rising to ₹163.7 billion from ₹147.9 billion YoY, indicating robust premium collections and improved investment income. For the full year FY25, the insurer reported a Value of New Business (VNB) of ₹23.7 billion, up from ₹22.27 billion in FY24, while Annualized Premium Equivalent (APE) grew to ₹104.07 billion from ₹90.46 billion — reflecting strong business momentum and new policy issuance. The board recommended a final dividend of ₹0.85 per share. Consequences: The company’s VNB margin held steady at 22.8%, suggesting it maintained profitability on new business despite industry headwinds. The improvement in net profit and growth in VNB and APE are positive indicators of operational efficiency and market demand. This performance is likely to boost investor sentiment and support the stock in the near term. However, the relatively low dividend payout signals a conservative capital retention strategy, possibly to fuel further growth or buffer against volatility. Overall, ICICI Prudential's Q4 and FY25 results reflect a balanced growth trajectory with profitability intact, reinforcing its position among leading private life insurers.
