JSW Energy Begins Construction of ₹16,000 Crore Thermal Power Plant in West Bengal

JSW Energy has commenced the construction of a ₹16,000 crore, 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Salboni, West Bengal, marking the company’s largest greenfield project. The plant will operate under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with WBSEDCL and is set to significantly enhance regional infrastructure and create over 2,000 jobs. This project is a key part of JSW’s East India expansion and contributes to its broader goal of achieving 20 GW of power generation capacity by 2030. Additionally, a 2,000-acre JSW Industrial Park is under development in the region.
