The strength was primarily concentrated in financials, insurance, energy, and diversified conglomerates, reflecting improving risk appetite and continued institutional buying in large-cap leaders. On the downside, selling pressure was relatively limited, led by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (−1.19%), followed by Eternal Limited (−0.87%), Bharti Airtel (−0.63%),
NESTLEIND
(−0.43%), and Sun ***** (−0.30%). Overall, the session reflected strong market breadth, with gains spread across most sectors while profit booking remained confined to a handful of defensive and telecom names. Sectoral performance remained broadly positive, reflecting widespread buying across most segments of the market. Nifty Realty (+3.49%) emerged as the best-performing sector, followed by Nifty PSU Bank (+3.03%), Nifty Metal (+1.48%), Nifty Bank (+1.39%), and Nifty Financial Services (+1.32%), highlighting strong momentum in real estate, public sector banks, metals, and financials. Other major sectors also ended higher, with Nifty Oil & Gas (+1.31%), Nifty Private Bank (+1.16%), Nifty PSE (+1.08%), Nifty Energy (+1.04%), Nifty Consumer Durables (+0.99%), and Nifty Auto (+0.69%) posting healthy gains. Defensive segments such as Nifty Healthcare (+0.19%), Nifty Media (+0.10%), and Nifty Pharma (+0.07%) also closed in positive territory. Nifty IT (0.00%) ended flat, while Nifty FMCG (−0.08%) was the only sector to close marginally lower, reflecting limited profit booking amid an otherwise constructive market environment.
