Mylan Sells Entire Biocon Stake for Rs 3,679 Crore

Mylan Inc., a subsidiary of global healthcare company Viatris, has divested its entire 5.64% stake in

BIOCON
through open market transactions. According to bulk and block deal disclosures on the BSE and NSE, the company sold a total of 91.97 million equity shares. The shares were split almost equally between the two exchanges and were transacted at an average price of ₹400 per share. The stake sale was valued at approximately ₹3,679 crore, marking Mylan's complete exit from its investment in Biocon. A large institutional stake sale can create short-term pressure on the stock due to the increased supply of shares. However, if the sale is driven by the investor's portfolio strategy rather than company-specific concerns and is comfortably absorbed by the market, it may indicate sustained institutional demand and have limited impact on the company's long-term fundamentals.
