Parabolic SAR (Stop and Reverse) indicator

The Parabolic SAR (Stop and Reverse) indicator is a technical analysis tool developed by J. Welles Wilder Jr. It is used to identify trends, determine the direction of price movements, and set stop-loss levels. How the Parabolic SAR Works 1. SAR (Stop and Reverse) Points: The Parabolic SAR indicator plots SAR points above or below the price chart. 2. Trend Identification: When the SAR points are below the price, it indicates an uptrend. When the SAR points are above the price, it indicates a downtrend. 3. Acceleration Factor: The Parabolic SAR uses an acceleration factor (AF) to adjust the distance between the SAR points and the price. 4. Extreme Points: The Parabolic SAR uses extreme points (EP) to determine the starting point for the SAR calculation. Interpretation of the Parabolic SAR 1. Uptrend: When the SAR points are below the price, it indicates a strong uptrend. 2. Downtrend: When the SAR points are above the price, it indicates a strong downtrend. 3. Trend Reversal: When the SAR points switch from below to above the price (or vice versa), it indicates a potential trend reversal. 4. Stop-Loss Levels: The Parabolic SAR can be used to set stop-loss levels, as the SAR points can act as a trailing stop.
