SpiceJet reports passenger load factor of 79.9% in August

SpiceJet has reported the Passenger Load Factor (PLF) of 79.9% during the month of August 2026. The airline had reported PLF of 84.1% during the month of July 2026. The airline carried 1.40 lakh passengers in August 2026, with market share of 1.2%. The PLF is a key indicator of the airline’s performance, as it measures the average percentage of seats filled on airline’s aircraft fleet. Impact : Since fixed overheads—including aircraft leases, personnel salaries, and minimum airport fees—are constant, the decline in volume severely diminishes total revenue. Consequently, cash inflows are constrained precisely when the airline urgently requires working capital.
