Vodafone Idea adds 5.06 lakh subscribers in August

Vodafone Idea has added 5.06 lakh customers in August 2026. Following this, the company’s total customer base has increased to 19.96 crore with market share of 15.43% in terms of wireless subscribers as on August 31, 2026. Impact : The growth is heavily driven by 4G and 5G upgrades. Converting low-value 2G users to premium data plans directly boosts Average Revenue Per User (ARPU). Sustained user growth makes the company far more bankable. Vi is actively leveraging these numbers to secure critical debt and credit facilities from major lenders to scale its 5G rollout across 200+ cities. View : Vi is sustaining its momentum by rolling out aggressive perks like free international roaming on premium prepaid and postpaid plans, taking direct aim at Airtel's premium market share. Although long-term cash flow strains continue to pose a threat, immediate operational progress lifted market sentiment, pushing Vi's shares to a closing price of ₹13.51 on the NSE.
