Adani Airports Plans ₹1 Lakh Crore Expansion; IPO or Demerger Likely by 2027–30
Adani Airports Holdings Limited (AAHL) has lined up an ambitious ₹1 lakh crore capital expenditure plan over the next five years to expand its presence across airports, real estate, hospitality, and large-scale entertainment infrastructure. Speaking to Moneycontrol, Jeet Adani, Director – Airports, said the investments will span air-side operations, terminals, and city-side developments across AAHL’s eight airports. AAHL currently operates seven airports, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Guwahati. Its eighth facility, Navi Mumbai International Airport, is set to be commissioned on December 25, 2025, with an eventual capacity of 90 million passengers annually. The company is also evaluating plans to tap public markets between 2027 and 2030, either through an IPO or a demerger, subject to NMIA becoming operational, achieving financial self-sufficiency, and progress in city-side leasing. AAHL has postponed the redevelopment of Mumbai airport’s Terminal 1 to 2030, aligning it with NMIA’s Terminal 2 launch. Beyond aviation, the group plans mixed-use city-side development at NMIA, including commercial real estate, hospitality, retail, and a 25,000-seat indoor entertainment arena, positioning AAHL as a diversified infrastructure platform.
