Akasa Air Inducts 31st Boeing 737 MAX as Fleet Expansion Accelerates; Focus on Passenger Comfort

Akasa Air has strengthened its fleet with the arrival of its 31st aircraft, a Boeing 737 MAX 8-200, which landed in Bengaluru on December 10. Registered as VT-YBH, the aircraft represents another milestone in the airline’s rapid expansion since its launch in August 2022. The new aircraft is among the first built to Akasa’s customised configuration, featuring Safran Z200 seats, a four-inch recline, redesigned backrests, enhanced cushioning, and USB-C + USB-A charging ports — upgrades based on extensive passenger feedback. CEO Vinay Dube said the addition goes beyond increasing capacity. “Every new aircraft reflects our ongoing promise to offer the highest levels of service,” he stated. He added that comfort-focused enhancements were designed to better serve frequent flyers and elevate the overall travel experience. Akasa Air has witnessed rapid growth over the past three years, now operating 31 aircraft with over 195 more scheduled for delivery in the next seven years.
