Apollo Hospitals to Acquire IFC’s 31% Stake in AHLL; Announces Rs 573 Cr Oncology Investment in Gurugram

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (AHEL) on Friday said it will acquire the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) 31% stake in its subsidiary Apollo Health and Lifestyle Ltd (AHLL). After the deal, AHLL will become a 100% subsidiary of AHEL, with Apollo holding 99.42% and the rest under an ESOP pool. The move is expected to unlock synergies, improve return on capital employed (ROCE), and strengthen growth across AHLL’s four verticals—primary care & diagnostics, Apollo Cradle (women’s health & birthing), ambulatory care centers, and dialysis & dental networks. IFC had invested ₹450 crore in December 2016, acquiring 29.03% in AHLL, split equally between IFC’s own account and the IFC Emerging Asia Fund. AHLL posted a turnover of ₹1,553.5 crore in FY25, up from ₹1,365.3 crore in FY24, and is targeting high-teen CAGR in diagnostics and primary care, leveraging genomics, molecular diagnostics, and personalized health screens. Oncology expansion: Apollo will also invest ₹573 crore from internal accruals to set up a 100-bed Comprehensive Oncology Centre in Gurugram, equipped with the Proteus One Proton Beam Therapy system—its third such installation after Chennai and Hyderabad. The facility will be part of the Phase 2 expansion of Apollo’s upcoming 500-bed Gurugram hospital, slated for completion by FY29. Apollo aims to double its oncology business to over ₹5,000 crore in 3–4 years, driven by advanced therapies such as proton therapy, robotics, immunotherapy, genomics-based medicine, and CAR-T cell therapies. 🔖 #ApolloHospitals #Healthcare #Diagnostics #Oncology #CancerCare #ProtonTherapy #HealthcareGrowth #MedicalInnovation #IndiaHealthcare #StockMarketNews
