Brookfield’s Rapid Holdings Offloads 25.4% in Energy Infrastructure Trust; Vanguard Buys into IndiGrid InvIT
Sponsor Rapid Holdings 2 Pte, part of Brookfield Asset Management, has sold a 25.4% stake worth ₹1,382.7 crore in Energy Infrastructure Trust through open market deals on September 19. The Brookfield entity offloaded 16.86 crore units at ₹82 per unit, trimming its stake from 75%. Shares of the InvIT closed at ₹82 on the BSE, down 0.4% amid heavy volumes. A total of 24 investors, including IIFL Management Services, Ambit Wealth, Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance, Star Health, 360 ONE, LGT Wealth India, and Future Generali Life Insurance, bought into the trust. Major unit holders now include ICICI Prudential MF, Bank of Baroda, Axis Max Life Insurance, and Tata Investment Corporation. Meanwhile, Vanguard Group acquired a 2.5% stake (over 2 crore units) in IndiGrid Infrastructure Trust for ₹353.3 crore at ₹169.12 per unit. On the sell side, Larsen & Toubro exited part of its 4.52% holding by selling 54.6 lakh units worth ₹92.1 crore, while BNP Paribas Financial Markets sold 46.1 lakh units worth ₹77.6 crore.
